I won a prize!

A few weeks ago, I entered into a fiction writing contest hoping to win Thesis for WordPress and a custom design from the team of Blogger Dad and Writer Dad over at Collective Inkwell.  You can read the winning entries here.

I didn’t win first place, but I did win third place (woo-hoo!) which was the choice of a custom banner from Blogger Dad or writing from Writer Dad.  Since I really like both of these bloggers and what they do, I had a difficult time choosing which prize I wanted.

It came down to a coin toss.

Blogger Dad – heads

Writer Dad – tails

I flipped a nickel out of my change cup and tails won.  I’m excited to see what Writer Dad does for my blog and I hope there will be another contest soon so I can try and win again and have Blogger Dad design something for me.  That would be the best of both worlds.

In the meantime, head over to Collective Inkwell and be sure to check out their Serial and Milk – Available Darkness.  It’s an awesome cliffhanger series told every Friday.  The beginning starts here and a new chapter will be added tomorrow, so you have some catching up to do.

  1. Really really well done. Just goes to show, can’t win it unless you’re in it!
It must have given you a huge boost, because there was some fabulous writing in there.
Congrats and can’t wait to see what Writer Dad does for you.

    • Thank you, Tara. You’re absolutely right; if you want something, you have to try and get it (or win it, in my case). Honestly, I was surprised I won anything because there really were some great stories written. It’s awakened the long-sleeping writer in me, though. I have stories floating around in my head these days.
